Lab On The Lake A Success!

The World Stem Cell Summit is underway.  Today I was at the “Lab on the Lake” all day, meeting and greeting the public.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table and signed up for our email mailing list.  If you missed me, it’s not too late.  Just send me an email at info@wistemcellnow.org.

Thanks as well to Bernie Siegel and The Genetics Policy Institute for inviting Wisconsin Stem Cell Now to participate.  Today’s event was all about explaining the science of stem cell research to the general public, in simple and easy to understand terms.  All day long the focus of Lab on the Lake was on educating the public, which is in accord with the primary mission of our organization.  Judging by the enthusiasm of the attendees, I would say that the day was a huge success.

If only we could take today’s event on the road, and travel throughout Wisconsin, there would be no need for Wisconsin Stem Cell Now.  However, since that is not possible, Wisconsin Stem Cell Now will continue to be a year round resource for dispelling the myths and misconceptions about stem cell research.

I am excited to attend tomorrow’s events at the World Stem Cell Summit.  Look for updates throughout the day on our blog, as time warrants.

World Stem Cell Summit/Lab on the Lake this weekend!

The World Stem Cell Summit is taking place on Monday and Tuesday, September 22 and 23, in Madison. It’s an event that’s really set up for those in the stem cell industry, doing research or working with a company that’s commercializing technology. However, they are making a strong effort to engage the public, and are hosting a “Lab on the Lake” free public event, which Wisconsin Stem Cell Now is proud to be a supporting organization for. Lab on the Lake is being held at the Pyle Center on Langdon Street, you can see more information here, and as far as we can tell, all are welcome!
