Second Patient Treated in Geron Stem Cell Trial
A second patient with a recent spinal cord injury has been treated with human embryonic stem cells as part of Geron Corporation’s clinical trial. This trial seeks to restore damaged nerves and improve muscle control and sensation in paralyzed patients. The treatment took place this week in Chicago at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
